Scope Building Identification, commemorative signage and displays, donor recognition

The Hunter S. Marston Boathouse, located adjacent to the Seekonk River in Providence, serves as the home for Brown University's men's and women's crew teams and their coaches. It is the site of daily practices, as well as competitions and races with visiting crew teams. The experiential graphics for the renovation of Brown’s rowing center celebrate the achievements of their men’s and women’s varsity rowing teams and coaches with photography and awards displays. The signs and graphics incorporate blackened steel material and components that resonates with the industrial feel of the interior spaces and building structure.

An important aspect of the project also included the reintegration of past donor and commemorative plaques that acknowledge the long heritage of Brown’s competitive rowing program, resulting in a cohesive and enduring design.
